- Our project statement
Hello! We are CCC Tres, a Creative Technology project group in Module 4: Art && Impact. We are a Cross-Country Collab team with three students from the University of Twente and three from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
For this final project in our final module of Year 1, we built an art installation for you to enjoy today. It involves an escape room-esque experience about space travel. Below, you can read more about the final installation, our building phase and our brainstorming phase.
We hope you enjoy!
For our final installation, we tried to design a thrilling unknown by creating a captivating dark room that is supposed to teleport you to the heart of a spaceship. If you want to step into our installation, you need to be prepared for an anxiety-inducing, escape room-esque experience where you will navigate the chaos of a spaceship with failing systems.
Upon entry, only one flashlight is given to you, with this you'll face an intense video sequence that builds up tension. Suddenly, an alarm will start to blare as the spaceship's systems crash. It's now up to you to restore its systems using the console and monitor placed before you. But we won’t make it too easy for you, as deciphering a crucial password is a key last step, and clues for this password are hidden throughout the room. You’ll need your flashlight to find them.
Feel the anxiety of solving our puzzle under pressure, then, when you’ve succeeded, experience the beauty of space as a final video plays. Hopefully, it gives you a sense of awe and relief. This is more than just an installation, it's an exhilarating journey from anxiety to relief. Are you ready to save the spaceship?

During the building week of this module for project we built everything that is in our installation. The very first thing we did was make the enclosed dark space using the carts you can see below and black plastic.
